Fixing bikes and riding bikes
I used to co-run a bike shop, Trikes and Bikes. See more about that on my 'cycle service & sales' page (click). If you live locally to me and you find it difficult to get your bike to a bike shop for repair or servicing I may be able to help. We have a frequent Dr Bike 'fix-it' events through our Bike2Life project (see below). See the Cycle service & sales page or Just get in touch with me through this website. Bike2Life

ice trikes![]() Anne and I have recently become recumbent trike riders. We ride ice trikes (see ice trikes website here). Anne rides and Adventure with e-assist and I have a choice (!) as I have access to an Adventure HD, FullFat and SprintX Tour. Some of these have e-assist and some do not.
We are learning to love riding these and have a couple of short videos to show you what they look like in action. ice trikes in Derbyshire ice trikes on North Wales costal path (links open in YouTube) If you are interested in seeing an ice trike then contact me through Bike2Life and it could be arranged. My local rides
My local riding area extends around Cannock, Lichfield, Tamworth... that sort of general area north of the West Midlands conurbation. I'm very easy to find on Strava & Garmin Connect. So if you're new to the area and want some ideas for rides out and some groups to ride with, drop me a line. Cycle to the Sea
In 2018 & 2019 I led a sponsored, 100 mile, one way cycle ride from the West Midlands to the coast of North Wales. It was a small, social ride raising a bit of money for a charity of which I'm a trustee. It had to be cancelled in 2020 due to Covid but I'm hoping it will happen again in the future on a slightly amended route. Coast 2 Coast
![]() I've ridden the C2C route 4 times using a farm in Kirkoswald as a base. It looks like the Keswick Threlkeld path has been restored after the bridges were washed out in 2015. That will be great to see the next time we go |

The climbs are stupidly hard in places and I shoved the bike up a few including one long hillside that was unrideable. But the hilltop moor riding and the descents were well worth the effort.
